Website Designer
Job Description
The Website Designer is responsible for the maintenance, design, and performance of USCENTCOM’s public-facing website (centcom.mil). This role ensures the website remains functional, secure, user-friendly, and aligned with CENTCOM branding and communication objectives. The Website Designer works closely with the Social Media Manager, Multimedia Content Creator, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of content across digital platforms while maintaining compliance with DoD security and technical standards.
Requirements
Website Maintenance & Content Management
- Manage day-to-day website operations, ensuring content is current and accurate
- Post content, create pages, and update CMS templates as required
- Troubleshoot performance issues and maintain site functionality
Design & User Experience (UX/UI)
- Develop website layouts, mockups, and design elements aligned with branding
- Ensure responsive design across desktop, mobile, and tablet platforms
- Implement intuitive navigation and user-friendly interface elements
Security & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with DoD and CENTCOM cybersecurity requirements
- Coordinate with CENTCOM J6 and technical teams as needed
- Maintain platform security, access controls, and best practices
Content Integration & Collaboration
- Collaborate with social media and content teams to align messaging
- Ensure website content supports broader communication strategies
- Maintain consistency across digital platforms
Testing & Continuous Improvement
- Conduct regular testing for performance, usability, and compatibility
- Recommend and implement enhancements to improve user experience
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
Emergency Support
- Provide 24/7 support for urgent website updates or issues
- Respond quickly to mission-critical content or system needs
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in website design and maintenance
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and CMS platforms
- Experience managing and troubleshooting live websites
- Strong understanding of responsive design and UX/UI principles
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Certifications
- Adobe Certified Expert
- Google Analytics Certification
- Certified Usability Analyst
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting government or DoD websites
- Familiarity with DoD-approved digital platforms and policies
- Experience integrating multimedia and social media content
Security Clearance Requirement
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance
Work Requirements
- Ability to support after-hours and emergency updates
- Operate in a high-tempo, mission-critical environment
Pay: From $88,000.00 per year
