PRIMARY OBJECTIVES OF POSITION
Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, you will have the opportunity to be involved in all financial, accounting, and business activities for the entire organization. This person will be expected to drive process improvement and automation in the finance department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITY
1. Lead and perform full-cycle month-end close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, prepaid amortizations, fixed asset accounting, and intercompany transactions.
2. Own the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements, variance analysis (budget vs. actual, prior year), and key performance metrics; provide clear, actionable insights and recommendations to the VP of Finance and senior leadership. Improve fiscal health with thorough analyses of financial data: develop deep, actionable insights to drive business performance by monitoring variances and identifying trends.
3. Develop, maintain, and improve financial forecasting models, annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range planning; collaborate directly with the VP of Finance on strategic planning exercises and scenario analysis.
4. Identify, investigate, and resolve complex accounting issues; drive continuous process improvement through automation (VBA, Python scripting, SQL queries) and system enhancements to increase accuracy and efficiency.
5. Develop, document, and maintain internal accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX (if applicable), and company standards, and support internal and external audit processes.
6. Perform deep financial analysis to support pricing decisions, cost reduction initiatives, profitability by product/customer/line of business, and business case development.
7. Proactively advance personal and team skill-set by staying current with accounting standards, new technologies, and best practices in financial systems and data analysis.
8. Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive financial, payroll, and HR related data.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills and Abilities:
· Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain composure under pressure.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present financial insights clearly to senior leadership and non-finance stakeholders.
· Collaborative, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
· Thorough understanding of debit/credit accounting, GAAP, and financial statement preparation.
· High attention to detail with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
· 2+ Years of Accounting/Finance Experience.
· Experience in a manufacturing or similar operational environment is strongly preferred.
· Experience with Python and VS Code for scripting and data analysis is a plus.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
