Position Overview

We are seeking a creative and motivated Assistant Landscape Designer to join our team. This role focuses on supporting the design and execution of small residential landscape projects, working closely with clients and our installation team.

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their design career who is passionate about plants, outdoor spaces, and creating beautiful, functional landscapes.

Responsibilities

Assist in designing residential landscape projects (plantings, small garden layouts, foundation beds, etc.)
Meet with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and site conditions
Prepare basic design plans, sketches, and plant lists
Support project coordination with installation crews
Recommend appropriate plants and materials based on site conditions
Maintain strong plant knowledge, especially for New England climates
Assist with on-site visits, measurements, and layout

Qualifications

Degree or coursework in Landscape Design, Horticulture, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Strong interest in residential landscape design and plant selection
Basic knowledge of plant material (trees, shrubs, perennials)
Ability to communicate clearly with clients and team members
Experience with design software (e.g., SketchUp, AutoCAD, or similar) is a plus but not required
Valid driver’s license required
