Derby Copeland Capital is a New York City–based private equity real estate investment and lending platform founded in 2015, focused on originating and structuring middle-market debt and equity investments across the capital stack. The firm originates, owns, and services first mortgages, mezzanine loans, preferred equity, and direct equity investments, and operates a vertically integrated platform with in-house property management and construction capabilities.
We are seeking an Analyst to join our Credit & Investments team. This role offers direct exposure to live transactions, underwriting, and investment committee processes across both credit and equity strategies, providing a strong foundation for a career in real estate investing. This is an in-office role based in New York City (five days per week).

Responsibilities
- Analyze and underwrite loan requests and equity investment opportunities
- Build and maintain property-level financial models (Excel and Argus)
- Evaluate key credit metrics including DSCR, debt yield, and loan-to-value
- Prepare investment memoranda and supporting materials
- Review loan application materials, rent rolls, and operating statements
- Coordinate third-party diligence (appraisal, environmental, legal, etc.)
- Support asset management and portfolio monitoring efforts
- Collaborate with senior team members on deal execution
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or related field
- 0–2 years of relevant experience (internship or full-time) preferred
- Strong understanding of commercial real estate fundamentals and lending metrics
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling required)
- Experience with Argus is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Compensation:
Expected annual base salary range: $80,000 – $90,000
Additional compensation: The advertised base salary range is not inclusive of other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role. Additional compensation may include discretionary bonus and benefits. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
