We are seeking an experienced US-based Sales Engineer with strong background in the EMS industry to drive new business development in the United States market.
The role is responsible for generating new revenue in medical, industrial, and high-mix/low-volume electronics manufacturing segments, positioning our Mexico-based manufacturing facility as a nearshore partner.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify and acquire new EMS customers in the US market (identification of suitable customers for the company, contacting potential customers, presentation of the company, organization of meetings and tours of company, presentation of the company offer with the aim of satisfying the customer's needs, high-level consulting of technical and commercial solutions according to the customer's needs, if necessary with the involvement of other professional services at the company).
- Management of new sales opportunities (occasional addressing of potential contacts, checking their needs and plans, technical consulting interviews).
- Concluding sales transactions (presenting the company as the best choice for a potential buyer, presenting technical solutions for a specific project, transparent explanation of the offer, negotiations in the direction of win-win).
- Checking the financial health of new customers with the support of financial services at the company.
- Checking the potential business growth with new customers (screening of potential customers, preparation of customer score card, position of potential customers on the market, strategy and assessment of future growth with the inclusion of electronics).
Technical Sales
- Understand customer technical requirements (PCBAs, box-build, system integration)
- Support handover of new projects for industrialization at production location of the company (obtaining all relevant data for new projects, conducting kick-off meetings, handing over all relevant project documentation and information to the project manager).
- Independent preparation of offers for existing and new customers and ensuring the accuracy and on time delivery of offers.
- Ensuring the profitability of new projects in accordance with the strategy of the company (offer in accordance with the instructions on minimum profitability and in accordance with confirmed calculation rates, activation of activities and verification of cost optimization after project nomination).
- Analyze and evaluate customer designs regarding industrialization and support customer regarding possible optimization of the product from a cost and manufacturability point of view.
Market Positioning
- Promote Mexico nearshore advantages (cost, logistics, geopolitical stability)
- Supervision and maintenance of relations with customers in regard of "Excellent Customer Service".
- Developing and maintaining long-term partnership relationships and business with customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Preparation and implementation of annual negotiations with customers (APN) according to the set goals of the management or board of directors.
- Constant proactive and professional communication with customers.
Required Experience
- 5 –10+ years experience in EMS / contract manufacturing sales
- Proven track record of closing $3M+ annual new business
- Strong understanding of:
- PCB assembly
- Box build
- Supply chain challenges
- NPI process
- Experience selling nearshore or Mexico manufacturing is a strong plus
- Existing network in medical or industrial electronics preferred
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree or above.
- More than 5 years of sales experience, with priority given to sales experience in electronic manufacturing industry.
- Hunter mentality (new business driven)
- Good communication and expression skills, coordination skills, and negotiation skills.
- Strong internal drive and a sense of purpose, results oriented, and high affinity with sales work.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
