Position: Investment Analyst - Real Estate Private Equity

The company specializes in investments in residential land, master-planned communities, and lotbanking, as well as other opportunistic strategies. JEN was founded in 2005 and is recognized as a leader in the industry with over 300 residential land investments made since inception. Today, the company has approximately $2 billion in equity under management predominantly from institutional investors and is investing out of its 9th fund. The JEN team in New York has 12 employees and JEN has dedicated development partners across the 14 MSAs in which it currently invests.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated, intellectually curious, and analytically driven Investment Analyst to join our team in New York. This individual will contribute to all aspects of the firm’s investment activities, including evaluating new opportunities, supporting fundraising and investor relations, analyzing new markets, and collaborating with JEN’s development partners across the country.
This role offers the opportunity for a junior investment professional to work closely with the firm’s Investment Committee and gain broad exposure to real estate private equity, residential land investment, and fund management. As JEN collaborates on a daily basis with its exclusive local development partners, the Analyst will have the opportunity to learn about both the fund and operating sides of real estate investing. The Investment Analyst will have a meaningful impact within a lean and collaborative team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Analyze new investment opportunities, including creating financial models and drafting Investment Committee memos
- Support the senior team in investor relations, including developing marketing materials and responding to investor data requests
- Expand JEN’s business by researching new markets and strategies
- Assist with Ad Hoc projects relating to new business initiatives and firm management; JEN is a lean company, and the analyst is expected to wear many hats
Position Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in real estate investing, investment banking, management consulting, or accounting
- Bachelor’s degree
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills with a full understanding of key investment metrics
Expected Annual Base Salary
$90,000 to $130,000
Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, and qualifications.
