About This Position

Reports to: Senior Director, M&A and Finance
We are seeking a highly-motivated and detailed-oriented individual to join SkyVest as an Associate, M&A. The M&A group is responsible for driving SkyVest’s growth through the origination, structuring, negotiation and execution of acquisitions, investments and capital optimization initiatives. Reporting to the group’s Senior Director, the Associate will play an integral role in all aspects of the M&A processes. This is a highly-visible role in the organization and an opportunity to work on a wide range of transactions in a dynamic, fast-paced and deal-driven environment.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Financial Modeling & Valuation: Own the construction and maintenance of complex financial models, including unlevered and levered returns, debt sizing, tax equity structures, PPA cash flow analysis, and sensitivity / scenario analysis to support bid pricing and Board materials.
- Due Diligence Coordination: Manage due diligence workstreams across technical, legal, commercial, and environmental disciplines. Track open items, coordinate with third-party advisors and internal teams, and synthesize findings into risk summaries for senior review.
- Transaction Support: Support senior team members in all phases of transaction execution - from initial screening and NDA execution through LOI, purchase agreement negotiation, and financial close. Draft deal summaries, process letters, and management presentations.
- Board & Management Presentations: Prepare investment memoranda, deal screening memos, and Board presentation decks. Clearly articulate deal thesis, financial returns, key risks, and portfolio fit for senior leadership review.
- Market & Asset Screening: Conduct ongoing screening of operating wind and solar asset opportunities. Develop preliminary valuations and return analyses to prioritize pipeline activity. Monitor competitive auction processes and market transaction comps.
- Counterparty Management: Interact directly with sell-side advisors, legal counsel, and third-party consultants. Manage information requests, review data room materials, and flag material issues to senior team members.
- Deal Process Management: Maintain deal trackers, diligence checklists, and closing condition matrices. Proactively manage timelines and flag risks to close for the senior deal lead.
- Post-Close Transition: Assist with transition and onboarding of acquired assets. Provide deal context to Asset Management and Operations teams; support closing reconciliations and final model updates.
Preferred Background
- 1-3 years of energy or infrastructure investment banking, private equity, corporate development, corporate finance or management consulting experience with a focus on power generation assets.
- Significant experience working on M&A and/or project finance transactions.
- BA/BS from a top university in Finance/Economics/Business/Accounting, or a similarly quantitative/analytical field.
