Our Opportunity: Chewy is seeking a
Software Engineer I - Full Stack to join our

On the Core Applications Platform team, you’ll help design and build systems that generate customer insights used to personalize the shopping experience across Chewy’s ecosystem.
As an early-career engineer, you’ll gain hands-on experience in a full-stack environment, contributing to frontend, backend, and data-driven systems, while growing your technical skills and ownership within a highly collaborative team.
What you'll do: - Build and enhance applications that power customer insights and personalization
- Develop scalable backend services and APIs integrated with data platforms
- Contribute to frontend experiences using modern frameworks to deliver high-quality UX
- Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, performance issues, and production incidents
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and team engineering standards
- Support operational excellence, including on-call responsibilities
What you'll need: - Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer
- Experience building applications in a frontend or backend environment
- Proficiency in at least one backend language (Java, Kotlin, Python) and familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (React, JavaScript/TypeScript)
- Understanding of software engineering fundamentals: object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and system design basics
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn across multiple domains (frontend, backend, data)
Bonus
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS
- Familiarity with data engineering concepts (e.g., pipelines, ETL, large-scale data processing)
- Experience in e-commerce or customer-facing product environments
- The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.

Exempt salary team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
