Role Description
Berkeley Partners is seeking a highly motivated Analyst, Investments to join its Investments team. This role will be integral to the evaluation and execution of a broad range of investment opportunities, including acquisitions, joint ventures, and credit investments.
The Analyst will work closely with senior investment professionals and will be expected to demonstrate strong financial acumen, intellectual rigor, and ownership of work product. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-performance, entrepreneurial environment and is eager to take on meaningful responsibility early in their career.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Underwriting & Analysis
• Underwrite and evaluate prospective investments across equity and credit strategies, including financial modeling, return analysis, and sensitivities
• Perform valuation analyses (DCF, comps, cap rates, loan structuring)
• Analyze asset- and portfolio-level performance, providing ongoing insights to the Investments team
Market Research & Deal Sourcing
• Conduct market and submarket research to inform strategy and identify trends
• Support sourcing, screening, and tracking of investment opportunities
• Maintain relationships with brokers, owners, developers, and lenders to enhance deal flow
Due Diligence & Execution
• Execute due diligence, including lease analysis, collateral evaluation, and competitive positioning
• Coordinate third-party consultants and diligence workflows
Investment Communication & Team Collaboration
• Prepare investment committee materials and support presentation of recommendations
• Assist with investor reporting and communications
• Contribute to internal discussions, articulating assumptions, risks, and key value drivers
Qualifications
• 1–3 years of experience in real estate private equity, credit, investment banking, or a related analytical role
• Strong academic track record from a top-tier undergraduate institution, with a degree in finance, business, economics, accounting, or a related field
• Expertise in financial modeling and valuation; advanced Excel proficiency required
• Experience with Argus, CoStar, and Yardi preferred
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex analyses into clear insights
