Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and motivated Mid-Level Architect to join our dynamic team in Charleston, SC. In this role, you will contribute to the design and development of innovative multi-family projects, collaborating with engineers, landscape architects, project managers, and construction professionals to bring the firm’s projects to completion.
As part of the development company, you’ll work on projects from the initial site selection through project completion and occupancy. This position offers opportunities for professional growth, including mentorship toward understanding project development and the built environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on architectural design development, schematics, and detailed construction drawings for in-house development projects.
- Prepare and review construction documents, ensuring compliance with local building codes and construction budgets.
- Manage consultants including MPE engineers, structural engineer, etc.
- Coordinate with and report to the firm’s director of design and principals on project plans, schedules and status.
- Conduct site visits for construction observation, coordinate with contractors, manage and address requests for information throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in project budgeting, scheduling, and coordination.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture from an accredited institution.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in architecture, with emphasis on permitting construction documents and construction observation.
- Licensed Architect in South Carolina (SC) and North Carolina (NC) or actively preparing/sitting for the Architect Registration Examination.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (latest version) and Revit.
- Strong understanding of building systems, materials, and construction methods.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with additional software such as SketchUp, Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Knowledge of building codes principally in South Carolina and North Carolina with an emphasis on the Charleston, SC and Raleigh, NC metro areas. Additional metro areas may be added based on project availability.
- Portfolio demonstrating mid-level project involvement, construction documents, including completed developments.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
