Position Overview
Dykstra | Hamel is seeking a Graphic Designer to join our growing creative team. This role is ideal for a motivated designer who enjoys bringing both print and digital concepts to life and wants to build a long-term career in a fast-paced creative environment.
Our work primarily supports businesses in the pest control and home services industries, developing branding, marketing materials, and digital experiences that help our clients grow. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a production-focused design environment while maintaining strong design standards.
We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong potential, work ethic, and a passion for design, but is ready to hit the road running to help with production.
**A Design Test Will Be Required to Qualified Applicants**
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Familiarity with Figma for digital or UI/UX design
- Basic video editing experience in Adobe Premiere is a plus (not required)
- Strong understanding of branding principles, typography, color theory, and visual design best practices
- Ability to handle tight deadlines and production workloads
- Strong attention to detail, especially regarding brand consistency and color accuracy
- Ability to receive and apply constructive feedback as part of a collaborative creative process
- Strong portfolio demonstrating design ability across print and/or digital work
- Ability to communicate design ideas clearly and professionally
Qualifications
- Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Strong portfolio showcasing design ability
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
