Role
Health Velocity Capital is seeking a Vice President (VP) to join its investment team. This individual will play a central role across all aspects of the investment lifecycle, working closely with Partners while operating with increasing autonomy as he or she progresses in the VP role. This individual will be expected to lead diligence processes, develop investment theses, and serve as a key representative of the firm with entrepreneurs, executives, and limited partners.
This role is well-suited for a candidate with strong investing and analytical experience who is looking to deepen responsibility in a collaborative, partner-led environment while developing into a senior investor.
Responsibilities
The core responsibility of this role is to lead diligence processes end-to-end and manage Associates through those processes, ensuring rigorous analysis, clear thinking, and high-quality outputs for investment decision-making.
Investment Diligence & Execution
• Establish and lead diligence workstreams on prospective investments, including financial, operational, and market analysis to support the co-lead Partners’ ability to tell a clear investment “story” subjectively and objectively
• Model active investment opportunities in the “Health Velocity Capital way” and bring to the partnership models that highlight key assumptions and conclusions in a clear, concise manner, drawing on historical trended unit economics in the process
• Evaluate company performance across key metrics including unit economics, growth drivers, customer dynamics, and operational KPIs
• Synthesize diligence findings into clear, well-supported investment materials and recommendations for internal discussion
• Stage analysis appropriately and avoid “data dumps” in investment memorandums, anticipate and prioritize key understandings at each stage of the diligence process to improve “signal-to-noise ratio”
• Prepare a comprehensive list of questions for team diligence calls with de minimis input from others
• Prepare for and participate in management meetings, customer calls, and expert consultations with professionalism and sound judgment
Firm Building & Associate Management / Development
• Manage and develop Associates and Senior Associates, helping elevate analytical rigor and investment judgment
• Assist in refining internal processes, sourcing infrastructure, and diligence playbooks
• Assess and improve internal workflows to be increasingly AI-native, supporting the firm’s broader adoption of AI tools and capabilities across sourcing, diligence, and portfolio support
Sourcing & Relationship Development
• Develop a clear understanding of an ideal Health Velocity Capital investment opportunity
• Contribute to development of investment themes, market perspectives, and internal knowledge sharing
• Drive consistent, high-quality deal sourcing of Health Velocity Capital-type investment opportunities with a proactive and persistent approach to generating deal flow
• Build and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, operators, investors, and broader healthcare stakeholders
• Lead initial calls and develop early investment perspectives on prospective opportunities
• Represent the firm externally at conferences, industry events, and within key healthcare ecosystems
Portfolio Company and Strategic Limited Partner Support
• Work closely with portfolio company leadership teams to support growth initiatives and strategic priorities
• Leverage the firm’s strategic LP network to help drive commercial opportunities and partnerships
• Support development of clear, high-quality content that conveys portfolio performance and market insights
• Contribute to materials and communications for limited partners, including quarterly updates, annual meetings, and ad hoc requests
Qualifications and Key Attributes
• 7–10 years of relevant experience in venture capital, growth equity, private equity, investment banking, and/or management consulting
• Strong experience leading diligence workstreams and owning analytical outputs
• Advanced financial modeling and analytical capabilities with attention to detail and intellectual rigor and with minimal training needed
• Demonstrated experience directly managing Associates and Senior Associates, including allocating and overseeing workstreams, ensuring quality of analytical output, and providing structured feedback to support professional development
• Ability to form independent, unique perspectives on investments and markets based on data and evidence
• Passion for and deep interest in healthcare
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build credibility with entrepreneurs, executives, and internal stakeholders
• Clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal
• High ownership mindset, intellectual curiosity, and strong work ethic
• Service-oriented mentality defined by honesty, integrity, and humility
