Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position based in New York, NY. The Sales Assistant supports the Account Manager and sales team in the daily administration of specialty wholesale accounts. This role focuses on order entry, order management, buyer communication, and inventory-related reporting, while coordinating closely with Production and Operations. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, system-driven, and thrives in a fast-paced apparel manufacturing environment—serving as the reliable eyes and ears of the Account Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Account Support
- Support the Account Manager in managing day-to-day activities for specialty wholesale accounts.
- Assist with buyer communication, including order confirmations, follow-ups, and request tracking.
- Assist with program setup and maintenance under the direction of the Account Manager.
- Act as a key information conduit between buyers and internal teams (Production and Operations).
- Perform accurate and timely order entry in ERP systems (Simparel / Exenta) –
ensuring pricing, delivery windows, and account-specific requirements are correct and current.
- Manage order updates including changes, cancellations, and delivery adjustments.
- Maintain clear and organized follow-through on open items and action lists.
- Maintain organized order records and documentation.
- Track order status and escalate risks or discrepancies as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in sales support, order entry, or wholesale operations—preferably within apparel manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems; Simparel and/or Exenta experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with MS Planner or similar task management tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
- Clear, professional communication skills.
- Positive, flexible personality with a team-first mindset.
