GroundWork is expanding its U.S. operations, and we are looking for a Project Engineer to power this next phase of growth.
About the Position:
This is an entry level engineering position. As a PV Test Engineer, you will be responsible for developing test procedures, conducting tests and writing reports for performance, reliability, safety and certification testing of PV equipment across all technologies. The measurements will be carried out both indoors with our AAA-flasher and outdoors under natural sunlight. You will be working closely with customers to develop customized test programs and interpret the results. GroundWork is looking for team players, with exceptional skills in their field, a can-do attitude, and the motivation to make GR the premier PV research and testing services provider in North America.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Work with clients to determine their testing needs
- Execute test projects for advanced performance testing of PV modules, racking and tracking equipment
- Specify, select and set-up test and data acquisition equipment to both indoors and outdoors,
- Assist with internal Quality Management program to ensure ISO 17025 conformance
- Assist technicians and operators to perform tests and maintain equipment
- Develop specialized test programs for customers, write technical proposals and specifications
- Conduct statistical analysis on test results, write test reports and review test reports
Required Experience and Education:
- BS in a scientific or engineering discipline
- Ability to specify, operate and program data acquisition equipment
- Ability to program and analyze data in Excel, Python or other scientific scripting languages
- Ability to work in a physically active environment, including moving equipment and test samples around the lab
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in the PV industry.
- Knowledge of PV test standards
- Previous experience with ISO 17025 accredited laboratory standards
- Quality management and control experience
- Statistical analysis, database programming
