The Role
You'll be the technical expert behind SMC's networking, access control, and security camera solutions — supporting sales teams, educating customers, and helping close deals. Expect a mix of pre-sales consulting, hands-on project oversight, and customer relationship management.
What You'll Do
- Support account managers with technical guidance, product demos, and solution design
- Build network diagrams, cost summaries, and project proposals
- Conduct site surveys and assessments (comms rooms, data centers, fiber networks)
- Manage billable projects from deployment through post-implementation support
- Pursue and maintain vendor certifications (Pelco, Hubbell, Panduit, and others)
- Represent SMC at trade shows, seminars, and customer events
- Log activity and opportunities in CRM
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in networking, telecom, or a related field
- 5+ years in communications or technical sales
- Solid understanding of LAN/WAN, IP, fiber optics, FTTH, DWDM/CWDM, VLAN
- Strong project management and ROI analysis skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Visio), Adobe, and CRM tools
- Valid driver's license
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $85,000–$125,000 + bonus potential
