Job Title: Associate Designer
Description:
The Associate Designer supports the Designer(s) in the design development process, from concept to delivery.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist and take direction from Designer and Senior Designer for preliminary design research, including competitive shopping analysis, fabric development, silo sketching, and art direction.
- Assist in development of initial seasonal design category in context of larger assortment.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and consumer preferences, bringing fresh ideas to the table.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and design reviews, bringing your creative insights.
Operations & Results:
- Support Designers in creating Illustrator sketches.
- Support designer in Photoshop silo creation and clean up.
- Meeting Preparation - format presentation boards for meetings including account specific board formats, cad templates, etc.
- Style Number Creation and Maintenance in internal PLM system
- Observe and assist in Technical Fit sessions.
- Research and coordinate fabric and trims for approval; maintain fabric/trim library.
- Recap meetings as needed - fit sessions, art reviews, etc.
Cross Department Responsibilities:
- Sales -create and maintain sample tickets, create and maintain account specific cad templates, provide hi res photography where needed
- Licensing - create Licensor specific line approval sheets; trouble shoot Licensor changes and support Designers in communicating with Licensing.
- Production - create Design Costing sheets; create Fabric and Trim standard templates Build collaborative relationships with Production, Sales, Tech and Licensing Contribute positively to team dynamic and manage up where necessary.
Qualifications:
- Must know Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills
- BA Degree major plus
Salary $70,000-$80,000
