Job Title: Associate Designer - Contemporary Brands
Position Overview
Seeking a talented and trend-driven Associate Designer to support the design team across multiple contemporary apparel categories. This role is ideal for a creative individual with a strong eye for fashion, fabric, silhouette, and market trends, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has experience working within the contemporary market.
The Associate Designer will contribute to the development of seasonal collections across tops, bottoms, dresses, and jackets, working with both woven and cut & sew categories.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of seasonal collections across multiple categories including tops, bottoms, dresses, and jackets
- Create sketches, CADs, and technical flats for woven and cut & sew products
- Research market trends, fabrics, color palettes, and competitive brands within the contemporary space
- Collaborate closely with the Creative Director and cross-functional teams throughout the design process
- Support fabric, trim, and silhouette development for each season
- Participate in fittings and assist with garment corrections and updates
- Maintain organized design boards, line sheets, and presentation materials
- Ensure designs align with brand aesthetic, target customer, and business objectives
Qualifications
- Must have experience in the contemporary apparel market
- Strong understanding of woven and cut & sew construction
- Experience designing across multiple apparel categories
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Strong sense of trend, color, and silhouette
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience working with women’s contemporary brands
- Knowledge of garment construction, fit, and fabric sourcing
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Salary $70,000-$80,000
