This position can be home-based.
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, fixed-term opportunity. Current funding will expire on April 30, 2028, with a possibility of extension.
Responsibilities
This individual is responsible for overseeing the development of the assigned module within the Association's suite of quality programs, including Get With The Guidelines: Stroke, Heart Failure, Atrial Fibrillation, Resuscitation, Coronary Artery Disease, and other specialty registries, produced by the Health Information Technology (HIT) department. This position provides input to the design and development, revision, and quality standards for assigned products through (1) leading the development and support of assigned product from start to finish; (2) working with other product managers to develop alignment across modules, proposals, and procedures; (3) collaborating with Association staff and volunteers; (4) provide expertise for development of electronic measure specifications; and (5) ongoing evaluation and revisions for the life of the product.
- Coordinate development of assigned module within the Association's suite of quality programs, including Get With The Guidelines: Stroke, Heart Failure, Atrial Fibrillation, Resuscitation, Coronary Artery Disease, and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy; produced by the Health Information Technology (HIT) department.
- Orchestrate work order process to ensure technological specifications are developed and delivered in a timely manner, and all deliverables are up to standards. This also includes developing product enhancements to meet the needs of the Association and customers
- Engage external data partnerships with external organizations such as The Joint Commission, CMS, and the industry. This requires analysis of the larger quality healthcare environment and review of the Specifications for Quality Measures to identify data alignment opportunities
- Collaborate with the Senior Product Manager, National Director of HIT, Science and Medicine Advisors, program managers, volunteers, and strategic alliances for the identification of new and updated guidelines release and development of a project plan to support complete integration with available technology tools and resources.
- Provide insight and guidance to affiliate strategic relationships that include a technology component
- Lead efforts to improve communication with vendors, customers, and Association field staff on technological platform updates; create and implement a process for timely and effective communication. Lead ongoing relationships with external audiences, as appropriate, including but not limited to technology vendors, corporate sponsors, strategic partners, healthcare professionals, and volunteers
- Serve as an experienced advisor to the National Director of HIT and other internal stakeholders for the development of the Get with the Guidelines strategic business plan. This position is directly responsible for implementation of that strategic business plan for assigned module. Provide research and competitive analysis support to the HIT leadership team.
- Monitor quality control of vendor deliverables, ensuring they are up to standards and achieved within scope and budget
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- three (3) years of experience
- Experience in Health IT systems and development
- Experience with new measure development and integration of established measures into healthcare technology platforms is highly desirable.
- Cardiovascular Clinical knowledge is a must. This may be as a degreed health professional or through experience in the health care arena with active responsibility for quality improvement program implementation
- Ability to understand, interpret, and communicate clinical information
- Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant data and apply insights to improve problem-solving and business planning
- Ability to lead multiple complex projects
- Must have excellent presentation and communication skills
- Ability to travel up to 25% local and overnight stay, ideally live near a major airport
Preferred Experience:
- Two (2) years’ experience in the use of Get With the Guidelines registry products
- Six (6) years of background in project management or communications/marketing or health technology a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex relationships with external partners and allied organizations
- Knowledge of voluntary health organizations and experience in group process with the ability to resolve conflicts and gain consensus through mediation and collaboration highly desirable
Compensation & Benefits
Salary minimum to the midpoint of the range is $74,600.00 to $95,500.00. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials may apply to the pay range. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range.
