About the Role: Healthcare Data Analyst
We are seeking a detail-oriented Healthcare Data Analyst to transform complex clinical and operational data into actionable insights. In this role, you will be the analytical bridge between raw healthcare information and strategic decision-making, ensuring that facility operations are data-driven, patient-centered, and compliant with rigorous industry standards. You will focus on maximizing resource utilization, improving patient outcomes through predictive modeling, and ensuring the integrity of healthcare datasets.
Core Responsibilities
- Data Optimization & Analytics: Design and refine analytical models using data-driven methodologies to identify operational bottlenecks and enhance patient throughput.
- Compliance & Data Validation: Author and execute data validation protocols to ensure all reporting aligns with HIPAA, JCAHO standards, and state/federal healthcare regulatory requirements.
- Technical Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate clinical dashboards, staff productivity metrics, and financial trend reports within Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Business Intelligence (BI) systems.
- Information Management: Oversee the integrity of data procurement and the maintenance of database infrastructure; coordinate with IT vendors for specialized healthcare analytics software.
- Quality Management: Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on service delivery gaps by analyzing clinical data and implement data-backed Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Cross-Functional Liaison: Act as the primary analytical contact for Clinical Directors, Finance, and Human Resources to provide data support for facility operations and staff management.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Statistics, Healthcare Administration, or a related quantitative field (Required).
- Experience: 0–5 years of experience in data analysis within a clinical, hospital, or outpatient healthcare environment.
- Technical Skills (Required):
- Proficiency in Health Information Systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong grasp of SQL, Python, or R for healthcare data manipulation and revenue cycle management analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems and database management for resource scheduling and inventory tracking.
- Ability to interpret complex healthcare datasets, financial reports, and regulatory policies.
- Preferred Skills:
- Master’s in Health Informatics, Data Science, or MHA.
- Experience in regulated environments (Hospitals, Pharma/GxP, or Health Insurance).
- Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) or Six Sigma Green Belt.
