FE is currently accepting applications for a full-time Designer. Designers should have a professional architectural degree, 2-3 years of office experience (after graduation and receipt of the degree), and experience with CA. Designers are an integral part of the FE project team, supporting the creative development, technical execution, and coordination of architectural design projects from early concept through construction documentation. Working under the direction of the Senior Designer, the Designer ensures the quality, accuracy, and clarity of project deliverables while upholding FE’s design values. The role involves contributing to every phase of the design process, assisting with team organization, and supporting both internal and external communications to maintain the smooth day-to-day project progress.. Over time, the Designer will take on increasing responsibility for project tasks and progress, developing toward the Senior Designer role. Along the way, the Designer will mentor Junior Designers and Interns across the office and gradually assume greater responsibility for coordinating consultants and managing projects.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Professional degree; B.Arch or M.Arch preferred
- Experience: 2-3 years of relevant experience in an architecture office following graduation (not including internships)
- Portfolio: Demonstrated design excellence across multiple project phases, from concept to documentation
- Proficiencies: Rhino, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and physical model building. Familiarity with digital modeling workflows and rendering techniques.
- Technical Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to produce accurate and well-coordinated drawing sets, models and presentations. Ability to think through and iterate productively from design prompts. Experience with CA.
- Soft Skills: Effective collaborator with a proactive and adaptable attitude. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work under pressure across multiple deadlines. Eagerness to learn and contribute to a supportive and creative studio culture.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $72,000 - $80,000, commensurate with experience
- Benefits: FE standard benefits package, inc. health, dental, PTO, etc.
- Pay Period: The 15th and the last day of each month
- Performance Reviews: Yearly reviews plus two additional progress check-ins throughout the year
