We are partnering with a privately funded startup operating in the private equity and portfolio company solutions space to identify a high-caliber finance professional for a newly created role. This is the first dedicated FP& A hire and a unique opportunity to join an ambitious, fast-scaling business at an early stage.
This position offers exceptional visibility across the organization and with external stakeholders. The role will work closely with senior leadership and help build core financial and operational processes from the ground up, with the potential to lead a small team as the company grows.
They are in NYC, 5 days a week in the office to start then will move to 3-4 days in office (this is not remote and will not be remote), you must reside within daily commuting distance of NYC.
As always, these are permanent, full time, fully benefited salaried positions (these are NOT temp, or temp to perm).
Compensation is based on experience:
The Finance Lead is between $175 - $250k base + 30-50% discretionary bonus + (potential equity)

Core responsibilities
- Partner with clients to review contracts and support data mapping solutions
- Analyze client agreements, cost of sales, EBITDA, and gross margin improvement opportunities
- Work cross-functionally with sales and marketing to evaluate business performance and profitability drivers
- Deliver reporting and actionable insights to internal leadership and external client stakeholders, including private equity and CFO-level audiences
- Build dashboards, KPIs, and management reporting tools
- Support financial modeling and ad hoc strategic analysis
- Help enhance systems, workflows, and reporting processes in a highly dynamic environment
What they’re looking for
- 1+ years of investment banking experience, or experience in Transaction Advisory Services, valuations, or a similar analytical consulting environment
- Strong academic background with top-tier education preferred
- Excellent financial analysis and modeling skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with sophisticated internal and external stakeholders
- Strong systems aptitude and comfort working with data, dashboards, and evolving technology tools
- AI-savvy, intellectually curious, and eager to help build in a startup setting
- Interest in operating roles; this position is not part of an M& A or deal execution team
Ideal profile This role is especially well suited for someone coming from:
- Investment banking with at least 1 year of experience
- TAS / deals advisory
- Valuation consulting
- Strategic finance or highly analytical client-facing finance roles
Exceptional communications skills are required. A great dynamic personality and the ability to work along your fellow colleagues is crucial. He or she must be able to effectively collaborate with individuals both inside and outside the company.
