Credit Risk Business Analyst
Location: New York (Hybrid)
Salary: $100,000 – $115,000
Must have the following: Strong Excel (pivot tables, lookups, macros), SQL/database experience, credit risk exposure, financial analysis skills, regulatory/reporting experience
Responsibilities:
- Order, track, and process Reports of Examination (ROEs) across institutions and regulatory agencies
- Review and summarize financial and counterparty reports for internal stakeholders and regulators
- Conduct research on member institutions, including news, enforcement actions, and risk indicators
- Support Credit Risk Management with reporting, analytics, and ad hoc project work
- Assist in preparing materials for Credit & Collateral Risk Committee meetings and board reporting
- Monitor credit exposures against limits and escalate breaches to senior leadership
- Maintain internal databases related to confidential regulatory examinations
- Process invoices, billing, and vendor-related financial tracking for the department
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and record retention standards
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies to obtain and manage examination data
- Support ongoing improvements in risk monitoring, reporting, and operational processes
Requirements:
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in credit risk, banking, or financial services
- Strong understanding of financial instruments, institutions, and risk frameworks
- Knowledge of banking regulations, accounting standards, and financial markets
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data queries, linked tables, macros)
- Experience working with databases and writing SQL queries
- Analytical mindset with strong math/statistics capabilities
- Ability to translate complex data into clear insights for stakeholders
- Familiarity with NRSRO ratings and financial modeling is a plus
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or MS in Finance/Economics preferred
