Looking for an entry-level associate asset manager with an understanding of renewable energy, underwriting, and finance. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing the financial and operational performance of the renewable energy portfolio in an attempt to ensure investor streams of benefits are delivered to the Funds.
Responsibilities:
- Support approval of all documentation (CPs) with respect to Investor Member Capital Contributions for investments in renewable energy projects including Independent Engineer bringdowns, appraisals, cost segregations, title work, debt documents, third-party reports, and final funding models
- Ensure all project-level reporting requirements are received, reviewed and accurately entered
- Review and summarize quarterly project-level operating reports to monitor project and portfolio performance and assess and attempt to resolve operational issues that are impacting performance
- Support the generation of quarterly and ad-hoc investor reporting to summarize asset performance
- Generate invoices and manage receipt of asset management fees, preferred returns and cash flow distributions
- Collect and perform high-level review of annual K1s and tax documents
- Update project-level benefit schedules; calculate project-level ROI/IRR as necessary to meet required target returns
- Gather data, analyze, summarize, and process for internal approval various Sponsor consent requests
- Assist with asset valuations and support negotiations of project-level exits after completion of compliance period
- Review and analyze annual audited and quarterly interim financial statements to Identify, address, and resolve issues of under-performing assets
- Build and strengthen relationships with energy sponsors and developers
Candidate requirements and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or economics with master’s degree preferred
- Entry-level experience in asset management (0 to 2+ years)
- General knowledge of Federal Renewable Energy Tax Credits
- Familiarity with contractual documents including Operating Agreements, Power Purchase Agreements, O&M Agreements, Debt Documents, EPC Agreements, and Interconnection Agreements
- Understanding of Renewable Energy investment structures (Partnership Flip, Inverted Lease, ITC Transfer) and associated Tax Impacts is a plus
- Solid Microsoft Excel modeling skills
- Strong problem-solving skills as well as the ability to review and analyze financial and technical data
- Demonstrated ability to manage conflicting deadlines and competing priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish effective working relationships and articulate issues and subject matter to senior level leadership
