We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering for a global aerospace company. In this role, you will develop, improve, and support manufacturing processes for cable harness and electromechanical assemblies by creating work instructions, interpreting electrical schematics, troubleshooting production issues, and implementing process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and manufacturing performance.
This is a 3-month contract (extensions likely), 40-hour-per-week role (Mon-Thu 10 hours), and an Onsite role in Orlando, FL.
This is a W-2 role as a Stage 4 Solutions employee. Health benefits and 401K are offered.
Responsibilities
- Analyzing and interpreting electrical, electromechanical, and cable schematics during development and production stages.
- Updating and creating assembly work instructions for efficient assembly based on the drawings and/or models
- Publishing work instructions to the production floor for use
- Identifying and maintaining tool lists required for the efficient assembly of the given products.
- Investigating technical problems and provides guidance in support of manufacturing operators to facilitate assembly performance
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to manufacturing failures and helps implement corrective action
- Supporting the implementation of lean manufacturing techniques to improve efficiency and reduce waste in the manufacturing process
- Providing input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
- Working in close collaboration and guidance of Subject Matter Experts in the implementation of manufacturing functional improvements.
- Adhering to existing functional process and procedures related to manufacturing engineering.
Requirements
- Must be an U.S Citizen
- 2+ years of experience with cable/harness manufacturing and/or electromechanical assembly as a manufacturing engineer.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline and 2+ years of related work experience.
- Ability to analyze electrical schematics and diagrams
- Experience in cable manufacturing and/or electromechanical assembly
- Ability to write assembly work instructions
- Microsoft Office suite experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher
- Must be highly detailed-oriented due to the nature of electrical and electromechanical assemblies.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal/written communications skills
- Self-starter with demonstrated self-initiated goals and results
- Demonstrated capability to multitask in support of multiple concurrent programs and initiatives
Desired Skills
- Familiarity with SAP (Qnotes, Routings, Bills of material) or a related manufacturing system
- Familiarity with design for manufacturing concepts and application
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing concepts and technique and experience generating/implementing process improvements
- Exposure to Electrical Engineering through experience or schooling, and familiarity with Zuken are a plus
