Position Overview
Plays a key role in driving customer acquisition, retention, customer lifetime value, and recurring revenue growth across multiple pest control brands—Spidexx Pest Control, Bug Shark Pest Control, and Maven Pest Control—that share ownership and a collaborative marketing team.
Reporting to the Marketing Director, this role focuses on optimizing the customer journey from first touch through long-term retention. This includes lifecycle marketing, conversion rate optimization, customer research, marketing automation, lead nurturing, retention strategy, and performance analysis.
The ideal candidate is both analytical and creative, with a strong understanding of customer behavior, conversion optimization, marketing automation, customer retention, and revenue growth strategies. This individual should be comfortable identifying opportunities, testing solutions, analyzing performance, and executing campaigns that directly impact company growth.
This position will also contribute to broader digital marketing initiatives including website optimization, customer experience improvements, reporting, automation development, and strategic growth projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lifecycle Marketing & Customer Retention
● Develop and execute customer retention, reactivation, cross-sell, and upsell campaigns.
● Build and optimize customer journeys including onboarding, nurture, retention, win-back, and seasonal campaigns.
● Create segmented campaigns tailored to customer behaviors, service history, geography, and seasonal pest trends.
● Identify customer churn risks and implement strategies to improve retention.
● Support recurring revenue growth through targeted lifecycle marketing initiatives.
Growth Marketing & Revenue Optimization
● Identify opportunities to improve lead generation, conversion rates, customer retention, and customer lifetime value.
● Analyze the customer journey to uncover friction points and opportunities for growth.
● Support growth of the company's online Click-to-Buy subscription platform through conversion optimization initiatives.
● Develop and execute growth strategies that increase recurring revenue and customer engagement.
● Collaborate with leadership to identify and prioritize high-impact growth opportunities.
● Monitor marketing funnel performance from lead generation through customer retention.
Email Campaign Strategy
● Build and manage campaign calendars for promotional, seasonal, automated, and retention-focused marketing flows.
● Write and edit engaging, human-centered, on-brand email copy tailored to each audience and brand voice.
● Design and build professional campaigns using marketing automation platforms and templates.
● Create customer segmentation strategies to improve targeting, personalization, and conversion rates.
● Manage and optimize automated workflows including onboarding, follow-ups, reactivation campaigns, abandoned quote follow-ups, seasonal reminders, and customer nurture sequences.
● Ensure all campaigns are proofread, tested, compliant, and scheduled accurately before launch.
Analytics & Performance Optimization
● Track and analyze campaign performance metrics including click-through rates, conversion rates, deliverability, customer engagement, retention performance, and revenue impact.
● Conduct A/B testing on subject lines, design layouts, CTAs, messaging strategies, and segmentation approaches.
● Use data insights to improve future campaigns and customer engagement strategies.
● Prepare regular performance reports and share strategic recommendations with leadership.
Market Research & Customer Insights
● Research customer behavior, industry trends, competitor strategies, and lifecycle marketing best practices to identify new opportunities.
● Help develop customer personas, audience segmentation frameworks, and retention strategies.
● Identify gaps and opportunities within the customer experience journey.
● Stay up to date on email marketing trends, deliverability standards, automation strategies, and emerging digital marketing tools.
Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)
● Analyze website, landing page, and Click-to-Buy performance to identify conversion opportunities.
● Conduct A/B testing on messaging, calls-to-action, landing pages, forms, and campaign elements.
● Develop recommendations to improve website engagement and customer conversion rates.
● Partner with internal teams and vendors to implement optimization initiatives.
● Track and report on conversion performance across marketing channels.
Team Collaboration
● Work closely with the Marketing Director and cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects and campaigns.
● Participate in brainstorming sessions, monthly marketing meetings, and strategic planning discussions.
● Collaborate with operations teams to better understand customer needs and retention opportunities.
● Support additional marketing projects as business needs evolve.
Qualifications
● 2–4+ years of experience in lifecycle marketing, email marketing, retention marketing, digital marketing, communications, or a related field.
● Strong writing, editing, and communication skills with attention to detail.
● Experience with email marketing platforms, automation systems, and campaign management.
● Familiarity with customer segmentation, lifecycle marketing, automation workflows, and performance analytics.
● Comfortable interpreting campaign data and making strategy recommendations.
● Excellent organization and project management skills.
● Highly self-motivated and organized, with strong communication skills and the ability to stay on task in a flexible, hybrid work setting.
● Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field preferred.
Bonus Skills
● Experience with SMS marketing or marketing automation platforms.
● Familiarity with CRM systems and customer journey mapping.
● Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or basic design tools.
● Knowledge of AI tools for marketing automation and content creation.
● Experience with Google Analytics or additional reporting tools.
● Experience with landing pages and conversion optimization.
● Experience in home services, recurring subscription businesses, or service-based industries.
