By joining our team, you will be empowered to make meaningful impacts across the organization alongside your peers.
Position Overview
We’re looking for aJunior Trend Designer who sees color, material, and finish as storytelling tools that enhance our consumers' everyday lives - not just surface treatments. You’ll help shape and elevate the look and feel of BruMate products and how they enhance our consumers' everyday lives, working alongside Product Development and product engineers to bring thoughtful CMF concepts to life.
This role is best suited for a designer who’s material-obsessed, visually curious, and excited to learn how design decisions go from mood board to production.
A significant portion of your role will involve staying closely attuned to the cultural, material, and aesthetic trends shaping the future of the industry. You will research and analyze emerging trends across design, fashion, lifestyle, and manufacturing, translating those insights into compelling narratives that inform and inspire the broader team. Beyond identifying emerging trends, you will play an active role in bringing ideas to fruition—guiding concepts from initial mood boards through production in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
What You'll Do
- Spend significant time in active trend research—tracking what's emerging across design, fashion, culture, materials, and manufacturing to keep BrüMate's CMF direction fresh and forward-looking
- Synthesize research into clear, compelling presentations that communicate trend direction and design opportunity to cross-functional partners
- Help bring those ideas to life by contributing to CMF concepts across products from early exploration through launch.
- Build CMF boards, palettes, and visual narratives that clearly communicate design intent.
- Help develop and maintain material and finish libraries
- Order, organize, and evaluate physical samples and prototypes
- Support collaboration with ID, Engineering, Brand, Marketing, and manufacturing partners.
- Assist in translating CMF intent into production-ready specifications
- Seek sustainable material innovation and applications to further advance our design standards.
What You Bring
- A degree in Industrial Design, CMF Design, Product Design, Fashion/Trend Design or a related field
- 2+ years of experience (internships, projects, and school work welcome)
- A strong eye for color, texture, and detail
- Curiosity about materials, finishes, and how things are made
- Confidence in communicating ideas visually and verbally
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop), Keyshot is a plus!
- An organized, collaborative, and proactive mindset
Nice Extras
- Experience working with physical samples, suppliers, or vendors
- Interest in sustainable or next-generation materials
- Familiarity with CAD or 3D visualization tools (AutoDesk Fusion and KeyShot).
Why You'll Love it Here
- Mentorship from experienced designers who care about craft
- Hands-on involvement in product development
- A collaborative, curious, and design-driven culture
Our Benefits:
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage
- Employee discounts and perks
- Hybrid office-home schedule (two in-office days per week)
- Flexible paid time off
- Paid maternity/ paternity leave
- 401K, 50% company match up to 7% of salary
- Opportunities for career growth within a rapidly expanding, innovative company
