Position Overview
The Genesis Prize Foundation (GPF) is seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, self-starting Communications and Marketing Associate to drive our daily social media presence, support global marketing and PR, and assist with CRM management. This role is ideal for a recent college graduate or an early-career professional with up to two years of experience who is highly organized, technologically savvy, and ready to contribute to a high-impact philanthropic organization.
Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer with shared oversight by the Director of Programs, you will serve as the primary professional managing the Foundation’s social media calendar and supporting its PR and email operations. You will also contribute to our research activities, CRM management, and our internal project management systems.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Execution & Operations (Primary Focus)
- Content Publishing: Serve as the primary poster and booster for all social media content across platforms.
- Community Management: Monitor channels to respond to non-controversial inquiries using pre-approved scripts and delete spam/harmful comments.
- Quality Assurance: Proofread content immediately before launch to catch inaccuracies and coordinate fixes with the content developer.
- Analytics & Budgeting: Gather performance statistics, follower growth data, and ad spend metrics to support regular social media analysis and reporting.
- Social Listening: Produce regular reports tracking posts from Genesis Prize laureates, stakeholders, and relevant personalities to identify timely engagement opportunities.
- Creative Support: Conduct research to support copywriters and multimedia creators.
Email Operations
- Campaign Execution: Set up, test, and distribute external email communications.
- Performance Tracking: Create and maintain email statistics and response trackers to evaluate engagement.
- Inbox Management: Monitor the general GPF info email boxes and routine inquiries appropriately.
- Reporting and Analysis: Support the development of performance reports, recommendations and best practices for increasing future performance.
PR & Website Support
- Media Monitoring: Gather and archive news and social media clippings following major announcements.
- Digital Updates: Perform select digital PR tasks, including updating website content and supporting updates to Wikipedia pages.
- Asset Library: Serve as the primary custodian of the Genesis Prize photo and video library, organizing assets and fulfilling photo requests for the team.
- Ad-Hoc Projects: Provide flexible support on marketing and PR projects as they arise.
Project Management & Systems Support
- Workflow Management: Own and maintain the Monday.com project management tool to keep all social media and other marketing content pipelines organized.
- CRM Support: Support the Director of Programs, providing administrative and data maintenance support within the organization's Salesforce CRM software.
- Process Documentation: Maintain social media standard operating procedures (SOPs) and content “must-have” checklists.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field; open to recent graduates or candidates with up to 2 years of relevant internship/work experience.
- Core Software: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, and especially Excel for data tracking).
- Platform Familiarity: Direct experience with social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, YouTube) and project management software (specifically Monday.com).
- CRM Experience: Knowledge of Salesforce and Salesforce Marketing Account Engagement (previously Pardot) is a major plus.
- AI Literacy: Experience and comfort using AI tools to streamline and support daily marketing, CRM and project management functions (e.g., brainstorming, drafting, basic data sorting, data gathering and analysis).
