Who We Are Looking For
As an Account Manager at Clutch, you will own and grow a dedicated portfolio of customer accounts. This is a revenue-focused role responsible for protecting and expanding MRR through renewals, upsells, cross-sells, saves, and long-term account health.
You will serve as the primary commercial partner for your customers, helping them understand the value they are receiving from Clutch, identifying opportunities to expand their investment, and managing risk before it turns into churn.
The strongest candidates are consultative, organized, strategic, and comfortable owning revenue outcomes while maintaining strong customer relationships. This role requires strong relationship management, clear value communication, and the ability to navigate both growth conversations and difficult at-risk situations.
This is a hybrid role at Clutch headquarters in DC. In addition, we are unable to provide sponsorship at this time or in the future for this role.
Responsibilities
- Drive Revenue Growth: Own retention, expansion, and Net MRR performance across your portfolio by identifying opportunities to grow customer investment and reduce churn risk.
- Lead Retention and Save Efforts: Confidently manage at-risk situations and cancellation requests by diagnosing the core issue, reinforcing value, and executing thoughtful save strategies.
- Build and Maintain Trusted Relationships: Manage a dedicated portfolio of customer accounts by understanding each customer’s business goals, current challenges, and opportunities for growth.
- Deliver Consultative Recommendations: Translate customer goals, performance data, and Clutch product capabilities into clear recommendations across multiple products that improve account outcomes and support revenue growth.
- Own the Sales Process: Lead expansion and renewal opportunities from discovery through close, including value positioning, objection handling, negotiation, and pricing conversations.
- Develop Account Plans: Use performance data, customer goals, and product adoption signals to identify expansion opportunities, improve account health, and reduce churn risk.
- Accurate Forecasting and Reporting: Maintain clean and accurate records in HubSpot, including account activity, pipeline visibility, renewal opportunities, expansion opportunities, and risk status.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Customer Success, Product, Marketing, and Revenue leadership to surface customer feedback, improve the customer experience, and advocate for client needs.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in account management, sales, customer growth, or another revenue-focused client-facing role.
- Demonstrated track record of hitting or exceeding quota, retention, expansion, or revenue targets.
- Proven experience managing customer relationships, handling objections, and navigating difficult conversations.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate value and manage conversations around pricing, contracts, and performance.
- Results-oriented mindset, with a strong internal drive to hit goals and positively impact key metrics like Net MRR.

In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible to participate in Clutch’s annual performance bonus program and any applicable incentives, which will be communicated during the hiring process.
Salary at Clutch is determined based on factors such as relevant qualifications, experience, and market. For this position, we expect an annual OTE based on individual performance between $70,000 and $105,000.
