Job Description
Jacobszoon & Associates, Inc. is hiring a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) to join our Forestry Team in Ukiah, CA. The successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a team to meet company and client goals. The ideal candidate is an adaptable self-starter with strong communication and problem-solving skills who is willing to occasionally travel for work. The RPF is responsible for all facets of contract administration and project management.
Responsibilities
· Develop and prepare Timber Harvest Plans (THPs), fuel reduction projects, Cal Fire Exemptions, and other CEQA documentation
· Design and implement forest inventories and timberland appraisals
· Administration of timber operations and fuel treatments
· Supervision of forestry technicians
· Forest/rural road assessment and monitoring
· Growth and yield modeling and sustained yield planning
· GIS analysis and mapping
Qualifications
· B.S. in Forestry or closely related field and valid California RPF License
· Familiarity with the California Forest Practice Rules and THP preparation and administration
· Ability to work alone and with others in remote and steep terrain
· Valid CA driver’s license and clean driving record
· Ability to safely operate 4WD pickup and ATV (ATV training provided if needed)
· Skilled use of conventional forestry tools (compass, clinometer, cruising instruments, etc.)
· Familiarity with North Coast species, ecology and silviculture's
· Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and ESRI GIS products
Salary & Benefits
Starting salary ranges from $88,000 to $148,500 depending on experience. Benefits include health, dental, vision, and life insurance, 401K plan with up to 3.5% company match, company cell phone, company sponsored professional development, personal use of company vehicle (limited), and 24 days of PTO per year including vacation, sick leave, personal leave, and holidays.
