Tucci Lighting is a premier lighting design firm looking for a Junior Designer to join our San Francisco studio. Position Summary
We are excited to offer a new Junior Designer role at Tucci Lighting, reporting directly to the Principal, Senior Designers, and Director of Operations. This is a hybrid position - part-time in office, part-time remote, offering autonomy and flexibility, with a focus on both residential and commercial projects in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative design environment. The Junior Designer provides essential administrative and project support to Tucci Lighting's design team, working closely with designers and project managers to ensure projects run smoothly from kick-off through construction administration.
The successful candidate brings a balance of organization, efficiency and technical expertise, with a genuine interest in architectural lighting design. Managing documentation, facilitating communication between internal teams and external stakeholders, and ensuring that the details that keep projects on track are handled with accuracy and care.
- This is a full-time, exempt position, working on average 40 hours per week
- This is a hybrid position - part-time in office, part-time remote. Remote schedule is agreed upon at hire and may need to be modified as work dictates.
- Availability when working remotely must be M-F 9 am-6 pm PDT

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Project Administration
- Maintaining project files, schedules, and documentation
- Tracking submittals, RFIs, and correspondence
- Updating project management software and logs
- Coordinating meeting notes and action items
- Facilitating project-related orders and expenses
- Researching fixture options and pulling product data
- Packaging and formatting project files, such as cut sheet packages, specification documents, and CAD-based drawing sets.
- Assisting with specification writing under senior oversight
- Tracking lead times and order status of product samples
- Coordinating mock-up reviews and lamp source approvals
Client & Consultant Communication
- Coordinating with architects, interior designers, and electrical engineers
- Following up on outstanding information or approvals
- Monitor project management software for assigned project tasks and upcoming deadlines
- Communicate workload and personal bandwidth clearly to project managers
Drawing & Document Support
- Organizing, packaging drawing sets for distribution
- Coordinating with CAD/ Revit drafters on redlines
- Reviewing project documents for completion, including formatting, proofreading, graphics, and standards compliance.
Site Visit Coordination
- Scheduling site visits for Senior Designers
- Compiling punch lists and tracking close-out items
- Ordering Optics and product samples
Day-to-Day
- Managing sample and loaner fixture logistics
- Maintaining the fixture library and vendor relationships
- Supporting multiple projects simultaneously across different phases
- Take ownership of the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the work assignments
- Accurately track project and non-billable time in Harvest software
- Maintain an hourly billable percentage of 85% or higher weekly
Qualifications
- Proficiency in BlueBeam, Adobe CS Suite, and Microsoft Office (required)
- Exposure to AGi32, AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Familiarity with project management tools (Asana, Procore, or similar) a plus
- Degree in Architectural Lighting Design, Architecture or Interior Design; or equivalent combination of education or experience
- 1-3 years of experience in the AEC field (architecture, engineering, construction)
- Detail-oriented, team-first attitude
- Motivated to work both collaboratively and independently
- Ability to explain complex ideas in simple, practical terms

Benefits Package
Tucci Lighting is committed to providing a strong benefits package to complement compensation. In general, benefit eligibility begins at 30 hours weekly. Eligibility for all benefits begin at hire except where noted differently below.
Our package includes:
- Competitive compensation commensurate with equivalent positions in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- The hiring range for this role is $70,000 to $80,000 per year.
- 11 annual paid holidays for FT roles
- 14days vacation accrual that begins at hire
