Job Summary
Process Control Automation, Corp (PCA) is a growing OEM specializing in robotic palletizing, case packing, and conveyor systems. We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining electrical drawings, control panel layouts, schematics, wiring diagrams, and related documentation for industrial automation and process control projects.
The ideal candidate has experience with electrical drafting, AutoCAD Electrical, industrial control systems, and the ability to work closely with engineers, project managers, and panel shop personnel to produce accurate, high-quality design packages.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and revise electrical drawings, including schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, termination drawings, and bill of materials.
- Develop drawings for control panels, PLC systems, instrumentation, motor controls, and industrial automation systems.
- Work from engineering markups, customer standards, field notes, and project specifications.
- Maintain drawing accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company and customer standards.
- Assist with the preparation of electrical design packages for fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
- Coordinate with engineering, project management, purchasing, and panel shop teams.
- Support project documentation updates, revisions, and as-built drawings.
- Review drawings for completeness, clarity, and accuracy prior to release.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in electrical drafting, electrical design, or a related technical role.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD; AutoCAD Electrical experience preferred.
- Knowledge of industrial control panels, PLC wiring, I/O layouts, instrumentation, and electrical schematics.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Associate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent experience in electrical design, drafting, automation, or a related field preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industrial automation or process control experience.
- Experience with UL 508A control panel design.
- Familiarity with PLC systems, VFDs, HMIs, motor controls, and instrumentation.
- Experience creating bills of materials and supporting panel fabrication.
- Knowledge of NEC standards and general electrical design practices.
