As a Financial Analyst with DE&E Product & Technology Finance, you will be responsible for managing a subset of the Professional Services budget for DEEP&T. You will partner with senior Technology and Product leaders to prepare financial plans across key forecast periods, including the annual budget, long-range plan, and quarterly forecasts. You will also collaborate with Accounting and Controllership throughout the recurring quarterly close process.
You’ll be part of a highly collaborative Finance team supporting some of Disney’s most innovative and impactful initiatives.
This position is based in New York, NY and reports to the Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis for DE&E Product & Technology.
Responsibilities
- Builds, maintains, and improves financial models for forecasting and analysis of technology expenses
- Prepare forecasts, annual operating plan (AOP), long-range plan (LRP), as directed by Segment and Corporate FP&A. Includes preparation of variance analysis and accompanying leadership presentations.
- Tracks invoices and contractual obligations, reconciles general ledger data, and manages accrual and reclass processes during quarterly financial close; partners with Accounting on actualizing P&Ls.
- Prepares ad-hoc reports, special projects, and presentations for various internal stakeholders including Technology, Product, and Business Operations
- Partners with Technology and Product teams on daily basis to inform financial deliverables
Basic Qualifications
- 0-2 years of FP&A or other relevant work experience required, preferably in technology and/or media
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly collaborative with strong problem solving, interpersonal and project management skills
- Attention to detail, desire for accuracy, and a strong sense of urgency
- Ability to quickly learn new concepts and navigate new systems/databases
- Intellectually curious with a desire to understand the business beyond the scope of day-to-day responsibilities.
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Math, Statistics, Computer Science or a scientific field
Preferred Qualifications
- Related work experience in FP&A or public accounting
- Experience working cross-functionally with individuals outside of Finance and Accounting
- Experience using SAP, Cognos TM1, Hyperion or other enterprise financial systems
- Experience using data analytics tools such as Alteryx, Power Query, and SQL
The hiring range for this role in New York City, NY is $91,300 - $111,500 per year.
