Coventry is hiring a Manager of Strategy & Innovation to be the Chief Strategy & Ventures Officer's right hand on the highest-leverage strategic, financial, and transformation work across the company. You will move fluidly between strategic innovation projects, rigorous financial modeling, M&A support, and transformation program management. You will own the analyses and the delivery plans that drive some of the most important decisions at Coventry, partnering closely with the c-suite leaders across the business, especially the CFO's and COO's offices. The role is built for someone with a top-tier management consulting (MBB or equivalent) background who wants the autonomy and impact of an operating role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic innovation projects. Define the question, structure the analysis, conduct the research, drive to a recommendation, and follow through on execution, driving transformation across the organization
- Build and own financial and operational models that underpin strategic decisions. Develop long-range plans, business-case ROIs, pricing scenarios, headcount plans, and unit economics for new products
- Support M&A activity end to end. Conduct sourcing diligence, build valuation models, draft investment memos, and drive integration programs
- Be the analytical thought partner to the CSVO, CEO, and CFO. Translate ambiguous business questions into structured frames and crisp answers, conduct rigorous analyses, and transform complex data into executive-ready narratives (decks, memos, dashboards) that move stakeholders to a decision
- Stand up and maintain lightweight operating cadences. Facilitate planning sessions, OKR development, KPI reviews, etc
Requirements
Qualifications:
- 5 to 7 years of experience, including at least 2 years at a top-tier management consulting firm (MBB+ strongly preferred), with the balance in corporate strategy, strategic finance, private equity, or investment banking
- Demonstrated ability to lead a strategic or transformation project from question to recommendation to delivery, with limited oversight
- Excellent quantitative skills; fluent in financial modeling in Excel, comfortable with three-statement models, unit economics, sensitivity analysis, and valuation approaches
- Strong program management chops, with a track record of successfully running cross-functional initiatives with real stakeholders, real timelines, and real consequences for slippage
- Strong written and verbal communication; can produce a tight memo or a board-ready deck and defend it under questioning
- Bias for action and intellectual horsepower
- Comfortable with ambiguity, breaks open new problems quickly, owns outcomes (not just slides)
- Bachelor's degree from a top-tier school; MBA strongly preferred but not required
- Domain experience in insurance, financial services, fintech, or insurtech ideal but not required
- Willing and able to travel between NYC and Fort Washington offices 1-2 times per month
