Turning Rock Partners is an opportunistic credit asset manager focused on providing debt and structured equity solutions to capital constrained middle market businesses in North America. The firm specializes in value-oriented, opportunistic investments with a measure of downside protection. Underlying investments can include corporate debt, structured equity and other special situations or privately negotiated financings or asset purchases involving cash flowing North American lower and mid-market companies.
Role Responsibilities
- Perform deep-dive fundamental credit analysis across multiple industry verticals, including assessment of business models, financial performance, liquidity profiles, capital structures, covenant packages, and overall creditworthiness.
- Build, manage, and refine advanced financial models and prepare high-quality investment memos and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Source and evaluate investment opportunities, providing well-supported recommendations and contributing to portfolio construction decisions.
- Work with senior team members on deal execution, including managing due diligence workstreams, coordinating third-party advisors, reviewing quality of earnings and legal diligence, structuring terms, and negotiating confidentiality agreements and other transaction documents.
- Engage directly with C-suite executives, lenders, sponsors, and other capital providers, representing the firm in meetings, diligence sessions, and strategic discussions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with company management teams, industry experts, and other proprietary information sources to enhance industry knowledge and underwriting accuracy.
- Apply knowledge of capital structure and financing alternatives to structure creative private credit and structured equity solutions tailored to issuer needs.
- Review, analyze, and provide guidance on complex legal documentation, including credit agreements, intercreditor agreements, purchase agreements, and offering materials.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years experience in investment banking (leverage finance or restructuring) is required. Experience in private credit/opportunistic credit investing is a plus
- Advanced financial modeling skill with experience building operating models, debt waterfalls, covenant analysis, liquidity forecasts, downside scenarios, and recovery analyses.
- Experience and ability to navigate complex debt and equity investment situations.
- Ability to work well independently and as a member of a team, which includes the ability to be flexible and adaptable.
