Chow Teo Food Company is seeking an experienced USDA/FSIS HACCP & Food Safety Consultant to support our USDA meat processing facility.
We are looking for a knowledgeable consultant who can visit our facility twice a week for approximately 2–3 hours each visit to guide our team, review food safety records, answer questions, and help ensure ongoing USDA and HACCP compliance.
Our goal is to build a long-term relationship with a consultant who will teach and mentor our team—not simply complete paperwork. We want someone who can help us understand USDA requirements, maintain compliance, and confidently manage our food safety programs.
Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and maintain HACCP plans.
- Review SSOPs, SOPs, and food safety documentation.
- Train employees on USDA/FSIS regulations and HACCP requirements.
- Teach staff how to correctly complete HACCP records, monitoring logs, and documentation.
- Review production and sanitation records for compliance.
- Conduct routine facility walkthroughs and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare the facility for USDA inspections.
- Recommend corrective and preventive actions when needed.
- Be available by phone or email for occasional questions between visits.
Qualifications
- Experience with USDA FSIS meat processing facilities.
- HACCP certification.
- Experience developing and maintaining HACCP plans.
- Strong knowledge of USDA regulations, SSOPs, GMPs, and food safety programs.
- Excellent communication and teaching skills.
- Fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese (required).
- Previous USDA consulting experience preferred.
Compensation
$75–$150 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
