As an SDR at Newo, your job isn't to sell Voice AI on a cold call. Your job is to identify companies where phone conversations create measurable cost, revenue, or customer-experience problems, and start conversations with the people responsible for solving them. Success is measured by qualified discovery meetings you set for our sales team — meetings where there's a real business process with meaningful call volume, a problem Newo can likely solve, a decision-influencer engaged, and a reason the company might act within the next 12 months.
You'll work a structured, account-based outbound cadence rather than high-volume, one-and-done cold outreach. Each account you work gets a real hypothesis about how Newo could help, multiple thoughtful touches across call, email, and LinkedIn, and a new idea in every message. This is a metrics-driven role: you'll track your own conversion rates, run a weekly review with your manager, and continuously refine what's working.
What you will do as an SDR at Newo:
- Research and qualify target accounts, building a specific hypothesis for how Voice AI could improve a workflow before you ever reach out.
- Run a multi-touch outbound cadence (calls, personalized emails, and LinkedIn) to reach the right operational, technical, or executive contact at each account.
- Conduct discovery-style cold and warm calls, asking questions that uncover real call-volume problems and the people who own them.
- Book qualified discovery meetings and hand off well-documented context to the appropriate Newo sales team member.
- Keep account and contact records current in HubSpot, logging outcomes immediately after every touch.
- Hit daily activity targets across calls, emails, and LinkedIn outreach, while prioritizing quality conversations over raw volume.
- Participate in weekly reviews of activity, outcomes, and learnings, and help sharpen messaging, objection handling, and targeting over time.
Month 1 at Newo:
Your first month isn't about exhausting a call list — it's about discovering which combination of account, problem, person, and message reliably produces qualified conversations. You'll build your outbound system in week one, ramp up conversation volume in week two, narrow in on your best-performing segment in week three, and leave week four with a documented, repeatable playbook.
Experience:
- 1–3 years of experience in a Sales Development Representative, Business Development Representative, or comparable outbound sales role.
- A track record of consistent outbound activity (calls, email, social) and of converting that activity into qualified meetings or pipeline.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills — comfortable opening a cold call, asking discovery questions, and writing a tight, specific email.
- Resilience and coachability: comfortable with rejection, receptive to feedback, and willing to test and adjust your approach weekly.
- Organized and process-driven; experience with a CRM (HubSpot preferred) and a structured outreach cadence is a plus.
- Curiosity about business operations — genuine interest in understanding how a prospect's team handles calls today before pitching anything.
Nice to have experience:
- Experience selling into healthcare/dental, restaurant, or other appointment-driven, high-call-volume industries.
- Familiarity with AI, voice, or contact-center technology.
- Experience working an account-based, multi-touch cadence rather than single-touch high-volume outbound.
