Brief Description
Summary of Primary Purpose:
The Graphic Designer creates compelling visual communications that support the mission and ministries of Harvest Bible Chapel. Under the direction of the Director, Communications, this role translates ministry messages, ideas, and priorities into clear, engaging, and consistent creative assets across digital, print, weekend services, events, and other churchwide communications while helping steward and strengthen the Harvest visual brand.
Scope Of Role
- Serve as a hands-on creative contributor supporting churchwide ministries and campuses, partnering with ministry leaders to execute visual projects from concept through final production
- This role manages multiple concurrent design projects
Essential Roles & Responsibilities, duties include but are not limited to:
- Create high-quality graphics and visual assets for sermon series, weekend services, ministry events, campaigns, email, web, signage, print materials, merchandise, and other church materials
- Translate ministry goals, messages, and creative direction into thoughtful visual concepts that communicate clearly and support the overall purpose of each project
- Apply and help maintain Harvest brand standards across ministries, campuses, platforms, and communication channels to promote a consistent visual identity
- Partner with the Director, Communications to translate project objectives and creative direction from pastors, ministry leaders, and other stakeholders into effective visual solutions within established priorities and timelines
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, prioritize work effectively, and consistently meet established deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail and creative excellence
- Prepare accurate, production-ready files for digital, print, and screen, including appropriate file setup, specifications, proofreading corrections, and quality checks.
- Develop templates, reusable assets, and design systems that improve consistency, efficiency, and ease of use across recurring ministry and communication needs
- Organize and maintain design files, source files, photography, project folders, and shared brand assets so creative resources remain accessible and current
- Participate in creative brainstorming and contribute fresh ideas for sermon series, churchwide initiatives, events, campaigns, and special projects as required
- Receive and incorporate feedback with humility, flexibility, and a collaborative spirit while continuing to strengthen the quality and effectiveness of the work
- Stay current with design tools, trends, production practices, and emerging creative approaches that can strengthen Harvest communications

Skills/Knowledge Required
- Expert proficiency in core Adobe Creative Cloud applications, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, with the ability to create high-quality digital, print, and visual communication materials
- Strong working knowledge of After Effects and Premiere Pro for motion graphics, animation, video editing, and related creative applications
- Strong working knowledge of Figma or similar collaborative design platforms for digital design, prototyping, and collaborative creative work
- Working knowledge of AI-assisted design tools, such as Adobe Firefly, Canva Magic Studio, Midjourney, Recraft, Ideogram, or similar platforms, with the ability to appropriately incorporate emerging technology into creative workflows
- Strong knowledge of graphic design principles, including typography, layout, visual hierarchy, color, composition, and brand systems
- Strong creative judgment with the ability to balance originality, clarity, consistency, brand standards, and ministry objectives
- Strong project management, organization, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively, ask clarifying questions, receive and incorporate feedback, and translate ideas and creative direction into effective visual solutions
- Strong attention to detail and working knowledge of print and digital production requirements, including preparation of press-ready and production-ready files
- Intermediate knowledge of complementary creative disciplines, such as photography, illustration, presentation graphics, or other emerging design technologies, preferred
- Ability to work independently while remaining highly collaborative, flexible, teachable, and responsive to changing ministry needs, priorities, and deadlines
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field preferred
- Equivalent professional education, training, and experience may be considered.
- 2 years of professional graphic design experience creating work across digital and print formats;
- 3 or more years preferred
- Strong portfolio demonstrating creative excellence, design versatility, typography, layout, branding, and visual storytelling across a range of projects
- Experience working in a church, ministry, nonprofit, agency, multi-site organization, or live-event environment preferred
Salary Range
$49,280 - $60,367
