Job Description
We are seeking an autonomous, forward-thinking Electrical Engineer to join our team and drive the design of complex power, lighting, and distribution systems across diverse commercial, municipal, medical, and light industrial developments.
This is not a position where you will be micromanaged or stuck doing repetitive redlines. You will have full technical ownership of your projects from schematics through construction administration, collaborating directly with principal leadership, architects, and prime contractors. You will work closely with a design team of 2-5 engineers to design and develop MEP systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full-Lifecycle Design: Lead the design and engineering of building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, fire alarms, and low-voltage infrastructure.
- Autonomous BIM Modeling: Produce, coordinate, and review comprehensive, clash-free electrical models and construction documents directly in AutoCAD & Revit.
- Calculations & Analysis: Perform complex electrical engineering calculations, including short-circuit, overcurrent protection coordination, arc flash, voltage drop, and photometrics.
- Code Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA standards, energy codes (ASHRAE 90.1 / IECC), and local municipal regulations.
- Coordination: Actively coordinate with internal mechanical and plumbing disciplines to deliver seamlessly integrated MEP models.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Architectural Engineering (BSAE) from an ABET-accredited institution or related field with proven experience in electrical design.
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of direct experience engineering electrical systems within an MEP consultancy or building design firm.
- Software Mastery: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD & Revit is an absolute requirement. Candidates must be capable of independent production and model management without drafting support.
- Credentials: EIT required; a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is highly preferred.
- Excellent project scheduling skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
