Minizfigs designs and produces building toy sets for national retail partners and brands.
We’re hiring a Creative Lead to own how our products and brand look across packaging, retail displays and sales materials. You’ll establish creative direction, produce finished design work and guide our junior graphic designer. Your decisions will directly shape how customers discover our products and how retail buyers see our company.
What you’ll own
- Develop packaging that makes the product appealing, communicates its features clearly and stands out on a store shelf.
- Establish consistent design standards across Minizfigs products while giving individual products a distinct identity.
- Design packaging, product graphics, instruction booklet layouts, retail displays, catalogs, sell sheets and buyer presentations.
- Develop clear product names, headlines and packaging copy that fit the product and intended customer.
- Direct and review design colleagues' work, provide useful feedback and maintain quality across projects.
- Prepare and review production files, dielines, proofs and printed samples for layout, color, accuracy and finish.
- Apply customer and partner brand guidelines and incorporate feedback through the approval process.
- Work with product designers and project management to keep artwork, revisions and approvals on schedule.
You’ll be expected to bring a clear recommendation, explain your design decisions and carry approved concepts through production.
What you’ll bring
- Professional experience designing packaging or retail materials for physical consumer products.
- A portfolio showing work that reached production, with your contribution clearly identified.
- Strong skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
- Practical knowledge of dielines, typography, color management, print preparation and production requirements.
- Good judgment about visual hierarchy, messaging and what makes a product understandable and appealing at retail.
- Experience giving actionable design feedback and reviewing other designers’ work.
- The ability to manage several active projects and deliver accurate work with limited day-to-day direction.
Why Minizfigs
You’ll work directly with the product team, have meaningful authority over creative decisions and set the visual standards for our products. Your work will become physical products, packaging and displays sold through retail partners.
