Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Landscape Estimator/Designer to join our innovative team. This role combines creative landscape design with precise project estimation, ensuring that each project is visually compelling, sustainable, and accurately budgeted. As a key contributor, you will develop comprehensive landscape plans, collaborate with clients and contractors, and utilize cutting-edge software to bring visions to life. Your expertise will help shape inspiring outdoor environments while maintaining efficiency and precision throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop conceptual and detailed landscape designs using software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, Rhinoceros 3D, Revit, Civil 3D, and MicroStation.
- Create compelling renderings, hand-drawn illustrations, and technical drawings to communicate design intent clearly to clients and team members.
- Conduct site analysis utilizing GIS tools like ArcView and ArcGIS to inform sustainable landscape solutions.
- Prepare accurate construction documentation, including planting plans, hardscape layouts, irrigation systems, and construction estimates.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, provide professional guidance on landscape architecture principles, and present design options effectively.
- Estimate project costs by analyzing material quantities for landscaping elements such as paving, planting, lighting, and hardscape features.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors during construction phases to ensure designs are executed accurately while adhering to sustainability standards.
- Incorporate sustainable design practices by selecting eco-friendly materials and optimizing water-efficient irrigation systems.
- Utilize graphic design software like Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite to enhance visual presentations and marketing materials.
- Support project management efforts by tracking progress, maintaining documentation, and communicating updates clearly with all stakeholders.
Experience
- Proven experience in landscape architecture or landscape design with a strong portfolio demonstrating creative projects from concept through completion.
- Hands-on construction experience in landscaping projects including hardscape installation, planting, irrigation setup, and site preparation.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D), 3D modeling tools (SketchUp, Rhinoceros 3D), and rendering programs for realistic visualizations.
- Familiarity with GIS platforms such as ArcView or ArcGIS for site analysis and environmental planning.
- Knowledge of horticulture principles for plant selection and landscape maintenance considerations.
- Experience in project estimation including quantity take-offs for landscaping materials and construction costs.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, engineers, and team members throughout all project phases.
- Understanding of civil engineering concepts related to land surveying and land development processes is a plus.

Pay: $59,100.00 - $63,300.00 per year
