Event Assistant:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Part 2 Events team as an Event Assistant. This is a hybrid position. The primary function of this role is to assist with company events, whether onsite for a Fortune 50 company at a venue on Capitol Hill or remotely for events nationwide. In this role, you will be planning catering events and assisting with operational duties. The ideal candidate will have experience working in catering or events and will report to the Account Manager. The ability to troubleshoot, remain calm, and deal with problems as they arise is critical. It will be the responsibility of the Event Assistant to ensure every aspect of the catering functions at the event is running smoothly and effectively.
Essential Functions:
Research and communicate with vendors, such as caterers, photographers, and equipment rentals; review contracts and confirm arrangements. Compile information on availability, pricing, and suitability for the event.
Facilitate attendee management by managing attendee lists, sending invitations, attendee communications, and reviewing rooming lists.
Assist in the updating of databases in Cvent and creating event websites
Plan the food and beverage for the catering events in conjunction with the preferred caterers for the events assigned.
Supervises the catering functions, including delivery, setup, refresh, and strike alongside the caterers.
Continuallyy inspect meeting rooms and public areas to ensure proper sets and cleanliness
Assist Conference Planning Team by greeting all groups each day if needed and act as the event concierge and greet attendees upon arrival to direct them to the event space
Work schedule based on event schedule/Flexible hours Ie: Evening Receptions
Perform other administrative duties as assigned for various events. Additionally, will need to support the planning team during vacations, illnesses, or leave of absences as business demand warrants.

From time to time, the ability to lift up to 55 pounds- i.e. assist in moving tables, chairs or boxes
