Data Entry Clerk
About the Company
Our client, a growing organization based in the Portland metro area, is seeking a Data Entry Clerk to assist with an upcoming billing software conversion. The duration of this role will be 2 months with a strong possibility of extension.
This role is 100% remote, but candidates must be based in the Portland or Vancouver metro areas.
Position Overview
The Data Entry Clerk will be responsible for accurately entering, verifying, and updating alphanumeric data within the company’s new billing software system. This role requires exceptional accuracy, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The position is critical to ensuring a smooth and precise transition of billing and resident records during the software conversion project.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate alphanumeric data entry of resident and billing information into the new billing system.
- Enter large volumes of information quickly and accurately using 10-key data entry.
- Review, verify, and reconcile data for accuracy and completeness.
- Identify discrepancies and collaborate with team members to resolve errors.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive resident and financial data.
- Support the software conversion project team with reporting, documentation, and progress tracking as needed.
- Meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in data entry, billing, or administrative support roles required.
- Proficiency with 10-key data entry (speed and accuracy).
- Ability to type a minimum of 65 WPM with high accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
- Familiarity with billing systems, healthcare, or assisted living operations is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
Key Data Entry Requirements
- 10-key data entry proficiency (10,000+ KPH preferred).
- Fast and accurate typing (65 WPM minimum).
- Experience entering both numeric and alphanumeric data.
- Strong ability to verify and validate data for accuracy.
- Familiarity with billing or financial data entry.
- Ability to handle high-volume data entry with minimal errors.
- Comfort working with spreadsheets and databases.
- Strong organizational skills for managing large data sets.
- Excellent attention to detail under strict deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive resident and financial information.
