Role Overview
This unpaid internship is ideal for ambitious individuals looking to break into Investment Banking, Private Equity, Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), Consulting or Business Development.
Interns will play a critical role in dealflow cultivation, market research, financial analysis, strategic outreach, capital markets, sales, business development and overall deal execution processes.
You will gain real-world experience in:
- Identifying and sourcing acquisition opportunities
- Conducting market research
- Conducting strategic outreach to business owners
- Screening and qualifying potential acquisition targets
- Developing financial models to assess business viability
- Assisting with due diligence and deal structuring
- Interacting with private credit and traditional financial lenders
- Raising equity from allocators/Limited partners (family offices, endowments, and UHNW individuals)
- Developing and Maintaining New business via multichannel outreach (Cold calls, cold email, etc)
Responsibilities
- Conduct targeted market research to identify acquisition opportunities in the tree care sector and related industries
- Develop outreach strategies and assist in deal sourcing through emails, calls, and marketing campaigns
- Screen businesses for fit based on VerdeVista’s acquisition criteria (EBITDA, operations, leadership, etc.)
- Collaborate with leadership to create financial models and preliminary deal structures
- Assist in data analysis and compiling due diligence materials for active opportunities
- Track outreach efforts and help refine the firm’s dealflow pipeline
- Support the team in building and maintaining relationships with industry professionals, sellers, and lenders

Qualifications
- Strong sales instincts and the ability to persuade (priority given to candidates with strong sales backgrounds)
- Ambition, Hunger, Ability to Communicate Clearly and Decisively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Fluency and articulate in the English language
- Interest/Experience in Private Equity, M&A, or Business Development
- Ability to conduct market research and think strategically
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (outreach/sales experience)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (financial modeling experience is a bonus)
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, Marketing, Sales, Computer Science, Financial Engineering or related field (no degree required if replaced with entrepreneurial experience)
