Engineering Manager
- PURPOSE
- To develop and maintain good working relationships with all of the customers of Forum Plastics.
- To work with the management of Forum Plastics to seek new customers and supportive vendors that will aid our quest to grow our company.
- To provide leadership and technical support to Forum Plastics activities related to Project Management.
- To support the company’s Quality Policy and ensure that the requirements of ISO 13485:2016 and other applicable industry standards are maintained.
- Support the Company’s goals and objectives.

- RESPONSIBILITIES / AUTHORITY
- Participates in continuous improvement programs to improve overall Operations productivity.
- Supports the management team and participates in activities that would lead to better business results.
- Maintains good working relationships with all customers and vendors.
- Maintains a high level of communication and collaboration with all functional groups.
- Direct supervision and responsibility of the Project Managers/Project Engineers to ensure timely and accurate performance of work.
- Mentors, trains and oversees performance of all Project Managers/Project Engineers.
- Supports organizational growth by recommending new staff and/or vendors.
- Ensures manufacturing processes adhere to company’s quality system requirements.
- Collaborates with Quality, Molding, Pad Printing and Assembly Supervisors to implement best manufacturing practices and continuous improvement efforts in the production area.
- Develops and maintains a high level of communication and collaboration with all functional groups.
- DUTIES
- Keep abreast of current quality system requirements.
- Develop, implement and lead continuous improvement programs to improve overall operations productivity.
- Review designs for gages, fixtures, and jigs as needed.
- Aid in the development and implementation of Quality, Manufacturing and Engineering programs to improve overall operations.
- Assist in the selection, ordering and implementation of new equipment, and facility improvements as required.
- Participate in internal Quality Audit programs.
- Assist in efforts to evaluate and develop techniques for improved efficiencies and reliability.
- Train, coach and mentor personnel to raise level of understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, Quality and Continuous improvement concepts.
- Lead projects as required by management.
- Assist in generation of yearly goals and budgets for department and report on them as required.
- Participate in Material Review Board and Corrective Action process.
- Establish and maintain procedures to achieve high standards of quality, reliability and customer service.
- Lead efforts to evaluate and develop processes, equipment, materials and designs to improve project results.
- Works with personnel at all levels to solve routine and special issues.
- Ensure that the documentation control process is implemented through the project development cycle.
- EDUCATION
- BS degree in science or technical field, BSME preferred.
- Certifications in Quality, Lean and Six Sigma a plus.
- Management and Problem-Solving Techniques courses a plus.
- EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5 years in manufacturing operations with a diverse well-rounded background.
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated management experience.
- Project Management experience required.
- Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, GD&T experience preferred.
- Experience in Manufacturing or Engineering Environment.
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks 3D CAD and/or other engineering design programs.
- Knowledge of plastic injection molding processes and qualifications related to medical devices a plus.
- Minitab, Statistical Analysis Training a plus.
- Microsoft Office skills required (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project).
- Knowledge of IQMS MRP software a plus.
- Experience with ISO 13485:2016 a plus.
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures and policies.
- Knowledge of OSHA practices desirable.
- Spanish speaking, reading, and writing bilingual ability a plus.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
