Position Summary
We are seeking a Systems & Network Administrator to maintain and enhance our IT infrastructure. This role includes providing technical support for daily issues—ranging from routine troubleshooting to more complex system management—and participating in long-term infrastructure projects. The administrator will work with on-premises data center equipment, VMware virtualization platforms, and Azure cloud services, supporting both office staff and field technicians while ensuring device security and connectivity.
Main Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Virtualization
· Oversee VMware infrastructure, including hosts, clusters, vCenter, backups, and restores.
· Monitor system performance and resolve capacity or reliability concerns proactively.
Networking
· Configure and maintain Ubiquity (Unifi) routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
· Establish VLANs, VPNs, and site-to-site networking for the Chattanooga headquarters and satellite offices.
· Monitor network health to ensure consistent uptime across locations.
Microsoft 365 & Azure
· Administer Office 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint).
· Manage Azure Active Directory, identity synchronization, and license assignments.
· Support hybrid integrations between on-premises Active Directory and Azure services.
Apple Ecosystem & Mobile Device Management
· Manage Apple devices (MacBooks, iPads, iPhones) using Apple Business Manager and JAMF.
· Implement and enforce security, compliance policies, application deployment, and configuration profiles.
· Provide support for device setup, troubleshooting, and ongoing care.
User Support & Helpdesk
· Offer technical assistance to staff and field technicians at all levels.
· Handle account creation, password resets, access management, and onboarding/offboarding.
· Document procedures, system configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
Security & Reliability
· Monitor systems and logs for unusual activity, patch vulnerabilities, and maintain compliance.
· Participate in backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
· Support incident response and prevention strategies.
Projects & Collaboration
· Lead or assist with IT initiatives such as deploying new sites, refreshing infrastructure, and migrating to the cloud.
· Collaborate with company leadership to align IT with business needs.
· Provide technical recommendations to enhance efficiency and scalability.
Required Qualifications
· At least 3 years of experience in systems and network administration.
· Proficiency in VMware virtualization.
· Hands-on experience with Ubiquity/Unifi networking hardware.
· Office 365 and Azure Active Directory administration skills.
· Experience managing Apple devices with Apple Business Manager and JAMF.
· Solid troubleshooting abilities, from Tier 1 through Tier 3 support.
· Capability to support multiple locations and remote users.
Preferred Skills
· Relevant certifications (VMware VCP, Microsoft MS-100/200, Azure Administrator, JAMF).
· Scripting experience with PowerShell or Bash to automate tasks.
· Background supporting distributed field teams in industrial or construction settings.
