Data Analyst – Controls & Reporting

About The Role
We are seeking a data-driven analyst to join our Global Credit Management Control team. This role will play a critical part in streamlining reporting, enhancing control processes, and supporting automation initiatives across the business. The ideal candidate will be an Excel expert who can transform raw data into actionable insights, while also serving as the bridge between business stakeholders and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting & Analytics
- Build, format, and maintain reports (primarily in Excel).
- Develop pivots, macros, and automation to improve reporting efficiency.
- Deliver ad-hoc data analysis and exception reporting for compliance monitoring.
- Controls & Automation
- Partner with engineering teams to gather business requirements for control automation.
- Support the migration from manual processes (Excel, SharePoint, email) to automated tools.
- Test and validate new automated processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Collaboration & Project Support
- Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams.
- Translate complex data needs into clear requirements.
- Track progress, escalate issues, and ensure deadlines are met.
- Provide light project management support for control initiatives.
Qualifications
- Required
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, data formatting).
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work with raw data and quickly turn it into meaningful insights.
- Clear communication skills with both business and technical teams.
- Comfortable working in a structured environment with defined deadlines.
- Preferred
- Experience with BI/data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, ThoughtSpot, Power BI).
- Familiarity with Jira, Trello, or similar agile tools.
- Financial services industry experience.
- Project management exposure.
