Position Overview:
We’re seeking an experienced Billing Specialist to manage insurance claims, payment posting, and follow-up. This independent contractor role requires hands-on knowledge of behavioral health billing workflows, SimplePractice and TherapyNotes.
Hours: 10–20 per week, with the opportunity to grow into a larger role as the company expands.
Responsibilities
- Submit and track insurance claims for behavioral health providers
- Post ERAs/EOBs and reconcile accounts
- Handle denials, resubmissions, and claim corrections
- Communicate with clients and payers regarding claim status
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality requirements
Qualifications
- Required: Minimum 2 years of experience in behavioral health billing
- Required: Proficiency in SimplePractice & TherapyNotes
- Understanding of CPT codes, modifiers, and payer rules
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Clear, professional communication and organization skills
Compensation
- Competitive hourly rate (based on experience)
