Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Back End Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of server-side logic and database management, with experience in developing robust applications. You will work closely with front-end developers and other team members to ensure seamless integration and functionality of web applications. Responsibilities
· Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, and maintainable code to support healthcare applications and data platforms.
· Design and maintain scalable, event-driven webhook ingestion services that securely process EMR/EHR callbacks (HL7, FHIR, or vendor-specific APIs), ensuring reliable persistence, normalization, and downstream delivery into clinical decision support and pharmacy safety systems
· Leverage source control (Git), including branching, merging, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) best practices.
· Conduct and participate in peer code reviews to ensure quality, compliance, and knowledge sharing.
· Collaborate with product and clinical leadership to refine development processes, coding standards, and quality measures aligned with healthcare regulations.
· Troubleshoot and resolve software issues; maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests to prevent regressions.
· Perform robust testing (integration, performance, and security) with an emphasis on patient data privacy and HIPAA compliance.
· Use code quality metrics and coverage tools to continuously improve system reliability.
· Support onboarding and mentor new engineering team members.
· Stay hands-on with evolving product features, healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR), and system integrations.
· Communicate proactively with team members, clinicians, and management to surface issues and propose solutions.
· Perform other duties as assigned to advance organizational and patient-focused goals.
Skills
· Minimum 2+ years of professional software development experience.
· Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) and PostgreSQL.
· Experience with debugging and performance tuning in distributed systems.
· Familiarity with Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
· Proven ability to build scalable, high-availability systems, preferably in a regulated or healthcare environment.
· Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to bridge technical and clinical domains.
· Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail in high-stakes environments.
· Ability to work independently as well as in a cross-functional team.
· Comfortable interacting with both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders, such as clinicians and administrators.
· Open to feedback and committed to continuous improvement in a healthcare compliance setting.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
· Prior experience in Agile development methodologies is preferred.
· Interest in or experience with healthcare technology, EHR/EMR systems, or medical data standards is a strong plus.
· Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning, certification, and professional development.
