 THE POSITION 
As a visual storyteller and a steward of the City's brand identity, the Graphic Designer is a skilled creative professional responsible for designing and producing impactful visual materials that support Moreno Valley’s departments, initiatives, and outreach efforts. This pivotal role brings clarity, consistency, and creativity to the City’s print, digital, and web-based communications, ensuring every design aligns with branding standards, accessibility goals, and community engagement priorities. The Graphic Designer transforms complex concepts into compelling visuals that inform, inspire, and connect with diverse audiences. From brochures and banners to social media graphics and reports, this role supports citywide messaging through thoughtful design and technical expertise. Working across departments and with external vendors, the Graphic Designer manages production workflows, prepares files for distribution, and maintains organized digital archives.

 IDEAL CANDIDATE  
The ideal candidate is a creative and detail-oriented professional with a strong command of visual communication and design principles. They are proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and experienced in producing a wide range of materials for both print and digital use. This individual thrives in a collaborative environment, communicates effectively with internal stakeholders, and consistently delivers polished, brand-compliant designs. They bring a strategic mindset to each project, translating complex ideas into clear, engaging visuals that resonate with diverse audiences. With a keen eye for layout, typography, and color theory, they ensure every design supports the City’s messaging and accessibility goals. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing multiple deadlines, adapting to evolving design trends, and troubleshooting basic technical issues. They are organized, responsive, and committed to maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and professionalism across all creative outputs.

Minimum Qualifications
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college and university with a degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Communications, or Marketing , and at least two (2) years of professional experience in graphic design using Adobe Creative Suite, is required. Experience working for a governmental agency is preferred.

About The City Managers Department
Functions of this office include coordination of the implementation of City Council policies and programs; providing overall direction to the departments that administer City programs and services; coordinating intergovernmental relations and legislative advocacy; and administration of the City's Technology Services Division, media relations, public information and intergovernmental relations and public safety contract administrator.
