JOB TITLE: Graphic Designer
DIVISION: CACVB Marketing

- FUNCTION: This position is responsible for coordinating printed, digital, and promotional materials for all departments of the Charleston Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (CACVB) as needed. The position also serves in a supporting capacity to departmental staff, providing assistance and collaboration to ensure the effective execution of organizational marketing and communications initiatives.

Iii. Specific Requirements
- Professional experience of one to three years in design, layout, production and desktop publishing and software systems
- Minimum professional experience of one to three year concepting/producing/laying-out entire magazines and/or similar publications
- Thorough knowledge of Macintosh software and equipment
- Previous professional experience and/or thorough knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite 5, including Flash animation and timelines, primarily web banner design
- Effective communication and time-management skills
- Strong ability to work in a fast paced, highly detailed and deadline driven environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Work with marketing department staff to professionally, creatively and punctually produce the publications and other printed materials of the CACVB; and prepare files for such projects to be sent to the selected printing vendor.
- Conceive of and create design concepts for projects when requested.
- Work with appropriate staff members to ensure that all publication projects and other print materials projects meet quality, budgetary and deadline requirements.
- Maintain, under the direction of the creative director professional brand image for all CACVB materials, including, but not limited to publications/guides, manuals, brochures, booklets, flyers, name tags, postcards, invitations, etc.
- Solicit bids for each printing job, as needed.
- Maintain files on all printed materials and job requests to use for comparison on future projects.
- Be thoroughly familiar with all desktop and related equipment and be responsible for requesting or ordering of maintenance needs.
- Track all jobs and regularly update project board, spreadsheet or other recording method to make sure turnaround time of all projects meets requested deadline dates.
- Help maintain the efficiency, quality and productivity of the marketing department by utilizing current systems and processes, and by further developing and enhancing those systems and processes as needed and as requested.
- Handle any special assignments as needed.

- Ability to operate office equipment and graphic software programs
- Access to transportation to attend meetings/functions throughout the tri-county region and the state, and to pick up or deliver supplies related to the job before, during and after regular working hours
- Ability to grip/grasp various tools and equipment used in the office area
- Good eyesight and hearing, which may be corrected with an aid if necessary
- Ability to rotate body while in a sitting or standing position
Non-Essential
- Ability to stretch and reach in various directions while in a kneeling, standing, sitting or crouching position
- Able to lift a maximum of 50 pounds
