JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Recreations Operations, the Marketing Coordinator is responsible for promoting and managing the marketing efforts of department programs, facilities, and services. This role involves increasing public awareness, engagement, and utilization of community parks and recreational offerings-services, while ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, parks and recreation, business, or related field, or five (5) years of related progressively responsible marketing experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and main server applications.
Special Requirements:
- Membership and active participation in TRAPS, NRPA or other professional organizations preferred.
- Experience in sponsorship solicitation and other funding collaboratives preferred.
- Basic First Aid, CPR and AED certification or ability to obtain within one (1) month of hire.
- Perform duties with the Emergency Operations team during the regular workday and after hours, working a variety of times, days and locations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven experience in marketing, preferably within the public sector or community-based organizations.
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing, social media platforms, and website management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data and report on campaign performance.
- Experience in budget management and event coordination.
- Knowledge of the parks and recreation industry is a plus.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Creativity and innovation in campaign development.
- Ability to work well with diverse community groups and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in marketing tools, social media, and graphic design software (e.g., Canva).
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing community needs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is light and requires exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, stooping, and talking.
